Rating Rush and the mystery surrounding the suicide

The recent event in the last few months had been highly disturbing.  There was an attack on the forward air force base at Pathankot by terrorists trained abroad.  One of the leading journalist was lamenting that the channel she works for did not get live footage of the attack and repulse or news.   There was an attack on a young man in Pune who claimed that the moment he revealed his community the perpetrators poured a liquid over him and set him on fire. He died subsequently of severe burns both internally and externally.  Then there was a gang rape of a girl from a particular community by youth of other community and the girl subsequently committed suicide. There was an attack on  the police station, houses and shops of persons of a particular community by people of other community who had gathered in strength to protest the remarks of one Kamlesh.  This lead to a violence of a level which put to shame the  post Godhra violence seen in Gujarat which had non stop coverage and mention in all media for the last thirteen to fourteen years.  All  these deserve a coverage of national level and brought to the attention of the people at all levels.  Nyet, Nay, No. These did not get the coverage as revealed by a leading journalist in a video blog as these places are far away from National Capital when compared to Dadri where a person of a particular community was killed due to personal feud.

Be that as it may, a student who had been expelled from the hostel on some misdemeanor commits suicide.  It becomes a national news despite the place again is not any where near the national capital. All the political bosses who matter in national scene like the VP of the INC, the founder president of AAP and the President of AIMIM etc converge on the scene and give out statements trashing the ministry and the central government. His caste has come into question.  When Poojary in Mangalore was done to death none bothered to find out what was his caste.  When Shanmugham Manjunath an officer of IOC was done to death none bothered to check what was his caste.  When Dubey was murdered none bothered to find out his caste.  When the girl was gang raped and murdered in Delhi a few years back none bothered about the caste.  The girl who was gang raped and who committed suicide a few days back none knows what was her caste.  Why this sudden interest in the caste of the student of a Central University who committed suicide (which again is under investigation for suspected homicide)?  There are already contrasting claims from the father and the mother about the caste of the student.  It is a death of a student.  But what was the urgency of such big political bosses to descend on the city when none had any time to console the relatives of the martyred soldiers and officers in the Pathankot attack.  When none of them opened their mouth to say a words denouncing the communal violence that rocked Kaliachak in Malda, West Bengal, why they started giving statements denouncing the administration for the suicide of a student in Hyderabad. The media especially the TV channels are going ballistic with their endless debates, discussions, news coverage and giving full coverage to all the political leaders' statements which at times sound so outrageous. All these give rise to one to suspect that there appears to be more than what meets the eye.  Is it really a suicide?  Did the student really belong to the caste he is reportedly stated to belong to?   These are some of the questions that remain unanswered.

What comes to mind is the continuous negative coverage during the times immediately preceding the Bihar polls when the question of intolerance was being discussed ad nauseum in the media and the so called intelligentsia returning the paper conferring them the awards, conveniently forgetting to return the monetary and non monetary gains of the award,  Every one knows why this had happened.  The intolerance debates and discussions were only to raise the heckles to create a fear psychosis among the minorities, reap the benefits of the poll bound Bihar and defeat the BJP in the state polls. Once the Bihar polls were over and the BJP defeated in the state hustings, tolerance returned to the country and every one lives in perfect harmony with each other.  Likewise, the present controversy surrounding the suicide of the student is to upset the calculation of the BJP in the poll bound states.

It appears that the congress has not accepted the people's verdict of 2014 graciously and tries it hand in every other way to block the government from getting the work done so that in the next LS election they can try to come back to power.  The congress managers are trying all the tricks in the books to discredit the duly elected government in one way or the other.  It appears that they have not accepted the defeat in the hustings in 2014 and never worked in opposition for long time except during the time of ABV. At all other times, be it during Janata rule in 1977 or during VP Sing during 1980s they had engineered to get the government down and come back to power.  Now the party of the present government has majority on its own despite keeping its allies together with ministerial berths and the congress finds it difficult to digest that and not able to bring down the government as they did in the past.  So they are trying all other means to bring down the government if not immediately at least prevent the BJP from coming to power again in 2019.  The VP of the INC gives a statement that if the government of the day accepts the demands of the congress then the GST bill will be passed in 15 minutes. How?  Why? and What are the unknown demands of the congress?  Is it to hand over power on a silver platter to the congress so that they continue to rule.  In this background, the MSM has been after the government with the sole aim of only TRP. Some of the utterances of the leading journalists of the MSM gives one a feeling that they are acting at the behest of the opposition and not neutral as they are expected to be and on the other hands when one reads the tweets from some of the leading journalists it raises a question are they actually from India.
